Leading Light Wind is the only American-led offshore wind project in the New York Bight, representing approximately 84,000 acres of seabed. Upon commercial operation, Leading Light Wind will deliver enough clean, reliable energy to power the equivalent of up to 1 Million New Jersey homes every year and offset 4 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions each year. Leading Light Wind is a bold vision for the East Coast that will deliver enough clean, reliable energy to power the equivalent of up to 1 million New Jersey homes every year and offset 4 million tons of CO2 emissions annually. The project will create over 7,000 family-sustaining jobs over its operational life and represents up to $3.7 billion in economic development benefits, including critical offshore wind infrastructure and supply chain investments. As the only American-led project in the New York Bight, Leading Light Wind is a generational operational to establish U.S. domestic leadership in offshore wind.
