[GREENCASTLE, IN] – energyRe, a leading American energy developer, today announced a landmark commitment to Putnam County, pledging to provide $72 million in dedicated funding over the life of the 4Leaf Solar Project. This long-term investment will provide $2.4 million annually for 30 years, supporting vital community services such as education, public safety and infrastructure.

This commitment ensures that the benefits of the project are felt directly in the community, strengthening public safety, improving education, and supporting the people who make Putnam County such a special place to live, work and raise a family.

The $72 million dollars is one of the commitments energyRe is making to Putnam County as part of the solar project’s rezoning process. energyRe will contribute $2.4 million annually for 30 years through a donor-advised fund administered by the Putnam County Community Foundation, ensuring resources directly support education, public safety, county infrastructure, and other community priorities.

The 4Leaf Solar Project is expected to create 1,200 jobs during construction and bring an estimated $176 million in broader economic development revenue. energyRe has also committed to strong protections for farmland, planted buffer yards, and safety, including a 100% decommissioning bond to restore land at the end of the project’s life.

Located between Cloverdale and Jefferson Townships, the 300-megawatt 4Leaf Solar Project will generate enough clean electricity to power 50,000 homes while preserving farmland through year-round solar grazing. The project represents a forward-looking partnership between energyRe and the community, ensuring that the benefits of clean energy. energyRe’s approach to the 4Leaf Solar Project reflects its core commitment to community engagement and stewardship.
