The project also includes financial assurances to demonstrate our commitment and support for local homeowners, in addition to low-cost power that supports grid reliability.
Renewable Energy Technology

Good Neighbor
The Rollins Solar Project will strictly adhere to all local ordinance requirements and regulations, including required setbacks, fencing, and vegetative buffering. The project is designed with community compatibility in mind and will maintain appropriate screening to blend with the surrounding landscape.

No Risk to Groundwater
Well maintained solar projects present no risk for contamination of groundwater and operate with no fuel or emissions. Full decommissioning ensures the land can be used for agriculture after the project at the end of its useful life. In fact, soil nutrients are often much better on former solar land because of less stress on the soil year after year.

Decommissioning
At the end of the project's operating life, the panels will be removed and the site restored. Decommissioning costs are fully insured by the company, ensuring there is no cost to taxpayers or local governments. After removal, the land will be in suitable condition to be returned to agricultural use immediately.
What else?
Rollins Solar is designed to be a long-term partner to Darlington County, providing clean power, stable tax revenue, and a flexible site that can be returned to agricultural use at the end of the project's life.
