Installed capacity of 320 megawatts
The Platt Solar Project is a solar facility to be located in Phelps County, Nebraska. The site will produce reliable and affordable local energy while preserving agricultural land.
Local Economic Benefits
This facility will generate new jobs and revenue for the local economy and includes full financial assurance for local homeowners.
Renewable Energy Technology

Water Protection
The Platt Solar Project does not consumptively use water and requires no groundwater withdrawals — making it one of the most water-conservative land uses available in Phelps County.

Decommissioning
When the Project is complete, the panels are removed at no cost to the taxpayer or county government. The cost of removal is insured by the company and the land is immediately suitable for farming.

Agricultural preservation
The Platt Solar Project will help Nebraska farmers diversify revenue from their land, keeping family farms in the family. The land remains owned by Nebraskans, and the Project revenue goes into the pockets of people from Phelps County. The soil and water conservation practices implemented during solar use leave the ground in great shape for future agricultural use.
Lower Taxes, No Pollution
The Platt Solar Project will generate millions of dollars for schools, fire districts, the community college, libraries, natural resource districts, agricultural society and the historical society that will no longer need to come out the pocket of Phelps County taxpayers. In addition to this meaningful injection of tax revenue, the Project does not pollute the air, water, soil, or environment in any way.
359 million gallons of water saved annually.
The Platt Solar Project saves 359 million gallons of water each year (10 inches per irrigated acre). For perspective, one irrigated corn acre uses more water in a single day than a solar facility uses in an entire year.
