Clarendon Solar

Project overview

Clarendon Solar will be located in Clarendon County, South Carolina. The project will contribute reliable, clean energy to the regional grid, strengthening South Carolina’s energy independence and preserving agricultural land for future generations.

Renewable Energy Technology

Tree buffer and vegetative screening

Good Neighbor

Clarendon Solar will strictly adhere to all local ordinance requirements, including setbacks, fencing and adequacy of vegetative buffering and screening.

Clean water

No Risk to Groundwater

Solar projects pose no risk of groundwater contamination, and because solar is a fuel-free resource, there will be no air emissions. Full decommissioning ensures the land can be used for agriculture after the project at the end of its useful life. In fact, soil health is often much better on former solar land because of less stress on the soil year after year.

Decommissioning

When the project is ready to be shut down, the panels are removed at no cost to the taxpayer or county government. The cost of removal is insured by the company and the land is immediately suitable for farming.

Community First

Clarendon Solar is designed to be a long-term partner to Clarendon County, providing clean power and a flexible site that can be returned to agricultural use at the end of the project's life.
